Inside the box
My father's a laser beam That searchlights my every scheme It's as if I'm a mime Trapped in a box of his design He doesn't let me take control An impulse, his wrath he'll unroll My soul's a caged bird you can see It's his way for eternity At times I get so annoyed That I want to rip through this void Hopes for freedom fill my head But nothing ever gets said This box of his imposing design Feelings of muffled frustration combine Still I'm resigned in this tower so tall Promise of escape leaves me feeling so small.
