Insecurity And Self Doubt
In your presence, my soul takes flight, Basking in warmth, in your gentle light. But shadows linger, doubts arise, Clouding my vision, veiling the skies. How can I offer what I cannot believe? Words of affection, they seem to deceive. For I am but a vessel, cracked and worn, Insecure, unworthy, forever torn. Each touch, each glance, a bittersweet song, Yet within me, doubts still throng. Reasons I conjure, to keep us apart, A shield of excuses, guarding my heart. You, with intentions pure and true, Deserving of love, yet I can't construe, How someone like me could ever compare, To the love you seek, beyond compare. So I linger in silence, unable to impart, The depths of my feelings, the ache in my heart. For fear of rejection, or worse, pity's guise, I bury my truth, beneath whispered lies. But know this, dear one, though unspoken it be, In the depths of my soul, you'll always see, A love that yearns, though shrouded in fear, For you are my everything, my reason to steer. Yet I wrestle with demons, within and without, Trapped in this cycle of self-doubt. For until I can love myself, wholly and true, I fear I'll never be enough for you.
