Innocence died
Tell me what is it like to keep your innocence? To never have had it stolen from you How does that feel? To be pure and painless I wonder what was it like to be a child while you were still a child Not to have been thrown into the world so wild Way before you were ready. To have had time to find your footing and not have to hold yourself steady. I wonder how it feels to know you're safe and have love At a time when you really needed to feel safe and be loved How does it feel to have never been left all alone? To have that one place you've always called home? To have that one person you know will always pick up the phone? What is it like to have never been scared? To have always felt like someone somewhere cared? I appreciate my story don't get me wrong I have accepted my pain and I have for the most part moved on Still deep down inside the wonder still thrives I know the strength I've gained through every tear that I've cried Yet sometimes I still ask myself why. Why did my innocence have to die?
