Innocence Cast Adrift
Oh poor you little lamb All alone, where is your flock Why are you here all by yourself In these lands Do you know what pasture you wander The grass you graze hides your demon Beware the snakes are green Little lamb, oh little meek youngling These lands you stroll You know naught Beware when you hear their howls For the wolves' hunts From the hill, they race Little fragile lamb From where do you come Where do you go What flock abandoned you Beware the sly fox He is no friend, only a backstabber He will smile charmingly Check his teeth, there your brethren lie Trust not the eagles The monarchs with no kingdom Rulers of the sky have no joy for dull landwalkers Let the badgers not fool you Small and prim Just waiting for your guard down Little lamb, this world holds your end Friends in fake skin Acquaintances with forked tongues Foes with poisoned grins Poor lamb go gently into this banquet of predators Let these not be your end Mama never taught these Papa mentioned nothing of this sort Now you are out here alone prey among hunters
