innocence
In a world so vast, I often ponder near, What am I doing here, in this perplexing sphere? For I see not the things that you disdain, As if deafened to the world, its sorrows and pain. But in this blindness, a gift I perceive, To witness the world as it's truly meant to be. A beautiful haven, innocent and sweet, Where darkness and malice find no deceit. At forty-five, I've witnessed life's stage, Known the existence of evils, dark and rage. Yet still, I choose to seek the good, every day, Perhaps it's a flaw, this naive display. But in this innocence lies a hidden grace, A spark that illuminates the darkest place. For in a world that often seems so wrong, A glimmer of hope, a melody, a song. So let me wonder, let me question my role, In this intricate tapestry that binds us all. For sometimes, the answer may not be clear, But through innocence, we find solace and cheer. Romique
