ink of solace
In the shadows of my mind, I wandered lost and alone, Haunted by demons, trapped in a darkness of my own. The weight of the world upon my weary soul, Tears stained my cheeks, my heart black as coal. In the silence of despair, I found solace in my pen, Words became my refuge, my only true friend. I poured out my pain, my anguish and my fears, Ink on paper, releasing all my hidden tears. "Why did you start writing?" they ask with curious eyes, To escape the darkness, to chase away the lies. To give voice to the whispers that haunted my mind, To find a glimmer of hope, a light I could find. So I wrote and I wrote, pouring out my soul, Each word a lifeline, making me whole. Through poetry I found a way to heal, To turn my pain into something real. And though the darkness may never fully fade, I'll keep writing, finding solace in the words I've made. For in the depths of despair, poetry became my light, Guiding me through the darkness, into the night.
