inhale/exhale
I light it up with shaky hands, Flick the flame—then silence lands. The world’s too loud, too sharp, too fast, So I roll some peace and make it last. First hit—lungs burn, mind slows, The chaos fades, the pressure goes. The weight I carry every day Lifts just a little, drifts away. Music hits, my laugh feels real, It’s the only time I start to feel. Not sad, not numb, not torn in two— Just calm enough to make it through. And in that haze, that slow release, I finally... feel at peace. No fake smile, no heavy mask, Just quiet stillness—that’s all I ask. I know it’s not a perfect fix, Just smoke and flame and mental tricks. But when I’m high, the pain stands still— The ache gets soft, the world feels chill. And yeah... I know it doesn’t last. The comedown hits, the doubts come fast. But still I roll, I spark, I puff— ‘Cause being high feels close enough.
