In dark nights, we searched for light, Under British rule, our freedom took flight. They saw us as servants, with no respect or care, Occupying our properties, with no regard to share. But then arose, a call to unite, Indian national fighters, for freedom's fight. Caste, religion, and differences, they left behind, United we stood, for our nation's peace of mind. 190 years of struggle, with sacrifices so true, Insults, disappointments, we faced, anew. But freedom's flame, burned bright in our hearts, Guiding us forward, through life's every part. August 15, 1947, a day of joy and cheer, Independence dawned, our nation's future clear. Big salute to freedom fighters, who fought for our rights, Their legacy lives on, in our hearts, a guiding light Mahatma Gandhi, the father of our land, Didn't attend the first Independence Day stand. He was in Kolkata, on a hunger strike true, Trying to restore peace, in a region torn anew. India gained freedom, at midnight's stroke, August 15, 1947, a moment to invoke.
