In Transit
In Transit by Jack A.S. Dunce I wake each day to the sunrise And bask in golden rays of warmth In rolling fields of evergreen Swept by the gentle blowing breeze. I raise my cup to the noon sun While resting under swaying trees And serenaded by bird hymns, Accompanied by rustling leaves. I watch the moon ascend her throne -- A cabriole through the night sky -- With eyes sparkling and mouth agape, Enthralled completely by her light. A strident horn blares from nowhere; I find myself on a crosswalk, A cup of coffee held in hand And loosely made tie on my neck. I've dozed off to the clouds again While walking on concrete pavements Through hovering smog of smoke and grime, And jostling through a faceless sea On my way to an office chair. --🏵️-- ©️pgmr 06/06/2025
