In the Wild
Here, beneath the shelter of these giant trees, the wild calls to me, a siren’s song woven into the susurrous rustling of the boughs of verdant leaves. The wind whispers its secrets, carrying tales of distant mountains, rivers and wildwoods where echoes dance at the very edge of my hearing, like patterned little heartbeats of ancient trees murmuring softly beneath the arching sky. These forgotten forest trails, overgrown and strewn with years of falling leaves and branches, beckon with a whisper, “Step lightly, for here lies my heart.” I tread carefully, mindful that I might awaken the grim spirits of the wild, dancing in shadows and sunlight; weaving their grave stories through the air with their tales of survival, of harmony, of strife. I breath in deeply, the scent of forest and earth filling my lungs, the call of the wild reverberates with its bright promise of tomorrow; of exploration and serenity. As I lose myself in this calming scene, I know that here, in the heart of nature, I am truly alive.
