In The Sun
As I see the grandkids run and play; It takes me back to another time. Life was not so simple for us then, Everyday was surely an uphill climb. Of all the troubles that we endured, As we made our way through life, No trial we faced we ever failed, Regardless of the strain and strife. We were both too stubborn to give up, When we had problems and concerns. We didn't know where life was leading, With all its many twists and turns. But, after many years of work and toil, We found our place in the golden sun. And we shall enjoy our life together, Until our time on earth is done.
