In the Silence of Longing...
I don't know how it feels to be loved. How it feels to be the first thought when someone wakes up, Or the last thought before someone sleeps, How it feels to be someone's top priority, The main character of someone's song, I don’t know how it feels to receive handmade gifts and flowers, Or to be someone they are afraid of losing, How it feels to be the person they think of when they look at the moon and stars, How it feels to be bombarded with love notes and calls. I don’t know how it feels to be held in silence, To have a heart race at just the sight of me. How it feels to have my absence linger in the room, To be missed like a melody that's never the same without its tune. How it feels to be cherished in the spaces between words, To be the warmth in someone’s winter and the calm in their storm. I wonder if love ever looks for me too, If it waits in quiet corners or whispers my name into the wind. But until then, I remain a passerby in love’s distant gaze, Yearning for a feeling I have yet to truly know.
