In The Shawdows
In the shadows of despair, I find myself, A mother’s heart, torn and left on the shelf. For eleven years, I’ve nurtured, I’ve cared, Now, my children’s laughter feels so rare. A promise made, a party planned, Yet fate’s cruel hand, I can’t withstand. Their father’s whims, a court’s decree, My summer dreams now lost at sea. Nightmares haunt, my breath grows thin, A battle fought, but can I win? I asked for help, a moment’s trust, Now, betrayal turns dreams to dust. They call her "Mommy," confusion reigns, In their young hearts, so many pains. But I hold on, through tears and strife, For they are my world, my reason, my life. Though darkness looms, and hope seems dim, A mother’s love will never trim. For in my heart, they’ll always be, My everything, my legacy.
