In The Name Of Christianity
In the sanctum of faith, where love should reside We often forget, the teachings we've been provided A Christian's garb, doesn't necessarily denote A heart that's pure, or a soul that's devout We hastily condemn, with judgments swift and cold Instead of extending hands, that would heal and mold We scrutinize attire, and lifestyles too While our own deeds, are far more askew Our actions, a paradox, to the faith we claim A dichotomy of love, and a heart that's tamed We brandish scripture, as a sword to wound Insults and disdain, our verbal jabs resound But does attending church, guarantee a place at His side? Is it the pews we occupy, or the heart that abides? The scripture warns us, "Judge not, lest ye be judged" Yet, we hypocritically, condemn with ease, and no remorse Before removing specks, from our brother's eye Shouldn't we first remove, the beam that's lodged in ours? Many shall come, in the name of the Lord Claiming familiarity, but will His response be, "Depart from me, I never knew you"? Do we truly know Him, or just pay lip service? Is our love for others, a mere facade, or a genuine preference? Who are we to judge, to condemn, or to decide? Shouldn't we instead, pray for those who've strayed.
