In the Arms of Temptation
I tell myself I'm healing, From wounds unseen, from scars concealing. Alone, I stand, embracing the solace, Believing it's better, without their presence. Yet fate, unkind, has its own cruel measure, As they return, a haunting treasure. With promises sweet, they lure me near, And though I resist, I can't help but adhere. Their touch, a poison, I know too well, Yet in their arms, I find a spell. For in their grasp, the pain subsides, Though fleeting, it's where my heart resides. I blame them each time, for the hurt they bestow, Yet deep inside, the truth I know. It's me who returns, time and again, To the cycle of agony, to the same refrain. In the dance of love and pain, I'm ensnared, Caught between longing and despair. For even in darkness, their presence shines bright, A beacon of solace in the lonely night. So I'll let it happen, over and over, Though I know the pain will only grow colder. For somehow, in their arms, I find my reprieve, Even knowing the torment they'll weave.
