In silence I sit

In silence I sit, Not wanting to spit, Words that would ignite, A battle in the night. For I don't want to fight, Or fill my heart with spite, Towards those who may hate, And wish to seal my fate. Instead, I hold the pain, And let it quietly reign, For I know that in time, It will fade like a chime. But for now, in the stillness, I find my own fulfillment, And though my heart may ache, I know that I won't break. For in silence there is strength, A power that goes to great lengths, To heal the wounds inside, And let my spirit abide. So I sit here in peace, And let my heart release, The burdens that I bear, And find solace in the air.
