in shadows i fade away.
In the hollow of silence, where whispers decay, I wander, a ghost in the husk of the day. No eyes to behold me, no breath to intrude, In the depth of my void, where the light is subdued. I rot in the corners, where shadows conspire, Their tendrils like chains, dragging me to expire. The echoes of laughter, once heard, now are gone, In the pit of my mind, I am wholly withdrawn. Skin pales to ash, a canvas of death, As the air in my lungs escapes with each breath. My voice, once a symphony, now a faint hum, A dirge for the living, a hymn for the numb. Alone in the dark, where the walls start to bleed, I’m consumed by the void, it’s all that I need. The world outside, a distant charade, In this coffin of silence, I slowly degrade. No solace in dreams, no respite in night, Just the endless descent from the edge of the light. I am nothing, no one, a specter in pain, A soul long forgotten, in the grip of the sane. So let the cold take me, let it smother the spark, For I am but dust in the womb of the dark. In isolation, I find my true grave, In fading away, I’m finally brave.
