In my head
it’s quiet outside. @Aubree Teter but never in me— my thoughts got a rhythm that won’t let me be they run in circles, they don’t take breaks, turn small little worries into big mistakes i replay conversations, rewrite what i said, fight invisible battles inside of my head and nobody sees it, the weight that i hold, how loud it can get when the night turns cold but somewhere beneath it, past all of the noise. past all the doubt that tries to destroy— there’s a version of me that’s still holding on, still soft, still breathing, still quietly strong and maybe that’s enough for right now, for today— not fixing it all… just not fading away.
