In Memoriam, Sis
Reminiscing, looking back, wishing our family blood would have been enough. But we were dismissive and omissive, love eventually called our bluff When we were young, as one we two were our one and only. Through eyes wide, we cried, in fear of being unloved and lonely. Looking back before the crack, that’s become our chasm of regret, When we were young, as one the sibling simpatico duet. Taken aback, you took all the flack my bad news resister sister. Pressured to unstream your dreams The families ‘also ran’, not the A-lister. Judgemental, parental restrictive love, we were undernourished. Our tears flowed for many years With your support, I escaped and flourished. Solving other's needs never recedes You took pride in giving all, aid. Throughout life, you took their strife lightening those heavily weighed Where’s it gone, what went wrong? We thought time was our world. But I turned around and found your life laid out, ended, furled. Devastating news, we all lose our family's reason to smile. We couldn’t choose to walk in your shoes We’ve neither the empathy nor the style. Today, I bow my head and pray, Wishing we had made our peace. Could we have reunited, love requited? It’s too late
