In Love With Love
I walk alone, yet love stays near, Not in a face, not in a voice, But in a dream that calls me close, A shadowed hand that leaves no choice. It lifts me up, then pulls me down, A gentle kiss, a cruel sting. I chase a dream that fades like mist, I love, yet never own a thing. My heart is torn—does love not laugh? It gives a rose, yet lets it bleed. I beg for more, then curse its weight, A hunger love will never feed. Oh, is there God? Or fate? Or chance? Is love a gift or just a lie? I reach for it, I burn, I break, It slips away, yet still, I try. And though love shatters me apart, I’d love again, with all my heart.
