IN CHAINS, IN BLOOD
By Julius Malah Matete Munthali Pain pounded down like hell all-over Shaking bones could not hold the grief stricken me Everything was in disarray Not one thing was in order, just confusion and more confusion In chains, a face punched, bruised countless times In blood, a face swollen, unrecognizable Motionlessly, punches, kicks found the whole me on the ground battling for life Faintly and remotely I could hear, "don't burn him up! The real culprit has been caught! This man is no thief!"
