In Another Life
Maybe in another life things would've been better I gave you everything, now all I have is your sweater I wish you loved me like I love you with all my heart and soul But instead you left me here no longer feeling whole In another life we would've been two butterflies in the wind Twirling and flying like time would never end We'd sleep in flowers and chase the breeze Our love would've come together with such ease In another life we'd be two ducks in a pond Laughing and splashing with our unbreakable bond We'd eat the bread that strangers liked to toss We'd swim beneath the ripples, love never lost In another life we'd be two tubes of paint Painting together with never a complaint We'd decorate it with stars and swirls Giggling at our mess like two little girls But in this life we didn't have such luck My unrequited love leaves me feeling stuck We're more like roses, lovely but they sting If you had loved me back, I'd feel like everything
