Impressing Superman R I. When I was a teenager, My ideas were as twisted As Soviet Art; Grotesque women With large muscles Glorifying the State. I was 14. I had earned a PhD in self-pity Which I received From NASA By complaining how hard My suburban life was. I think it Embarrassed the NASA that I thought myself To be so Consequential As if I had landed on The Sea of Tranquility As I took one small step for Teenagers. II. My thinking was As scratched as my Hey Jude 45 recording If something was awful, I liked it. If it bothered my parents, I liked it even better. And the more I liked anything The more confused I became. To solve this dilemna, I reasoned, I needed to become Superman. Upon turning into Superman, I got a job delivering papers For the Main Line Times. I don't think I was paid what Superman was worth, which was the beginning of the end of my dallience. I was disappointed. III. It was Summer, and was time to become Permanently emotionally disfigured from boredom.
