I'm Sorry, I Can't Stay
My heart is tired. I don't want this anymore- Your "love" isn't the kind of love that I've been searching for. Maybe we just didn't see Just how different our definition is- Entirely. You see, you were raised on survival and I was raised on love Our motives just aren't the same and they won't ever mesh We should be equals on the same playing field, yet you regard yourself as God, in the flesh. Love is give and take, but you never want to give- You've sucked the life right out of me-- and in every state, you've bled me dry. You don't even bat an eye when I am not okay Not a single word or acknowledgement you simply walk away. I don't want to do this, it's not how I want to live... It's time for me to walk away, before it becomes too late- I know how days turn into weeks and weeks turn into years- If I stay, all that's left for me is heartache and tears. So before I lose what's left of myself, I have to get away-- To end this endless cycle of misery, I'm sorry, but I can't stay....
