You were a well in a desert, you kept me in the dry land I made a home around you, protected you firsthand You provided what you could but over time you ran dry You were more work to keep running than value to my life You were there to save me when I needed it the most You said you'd take me but you were nothing more than a ghost You wanted to fix things but didn't know how We built a life on blissful ignorance, but that's gone now You promised me the world but took from me in scores I gave you everything until I could give no more You were never left wanting but I lived in a drought I thought I could do everything but now even the simplest tasks bring doubt I built up everything to be happy with you Now I'm starting from scratch and it's the best thing to do I'm giving up everything to rebuild my mind And now that I'm here well, its about damn time
