I'm Fine
Exhaustion comes in many forms. Physical, mental, emotional. Mine isn't earned. I do chores and call it quits. I hunt bugs for my lizard, unless I forget. Homework will be fine, as long as I don't forfeit. I'm perfect at school, loved at home. Lots of friends, wishing it could all show. But I eat all I want, no reason to cry alone. My emotions are fine, just a smile on my face. They don't have to know that it's fake. Friends keep me walking, no falter. But I do the work Father won't do. Wake the boys, take care of the house and pets. Keep everyone protected since sister left. Be perfect in every sense. I stay up, can't sleep. On tippytoes even alone, food isn't my friend. Not if I still get comments. Too skinny, eat more. Then, it hurts, every pet lost More family then the one I've got. They watched me grow, cry, smile. Never told me to shut up. But my pain isn't earned. I don't have a job. I still love my friends and family. I'm always smiling. I'm fine.
