I'm Colored Again !!!
Along the sloppy, and winding street, Where black and white first came to meet, I noticed the scene, not far from you, While I was Surrounded by green and blue. I saw the red, the pink, the gold, So many colors, bright and bold. But still, you chose the shades of grey, And let the light just fade away. You trusted greys, their silent song, Though something always felt so wrong. You missed the love the reds had shown, And faced the dark parts all alone. But I could see behind their face A hidden knife, a fake embrace. I asked the blues to stay close by, To lift you up when you would cry. You wept the loudest, with the deepest frown, When black and white and grey fell down. That’s when the greens and blues came near, The reds and yellows joined in cheer. You smiled again, a smile so wide, With all the colors by your side. And I was there, all that while. Just behind you, half a mile.
