Illusions of You
“Illusions of You” I believed you were mine, a whispered secret, yet reality unfolded—a cruel revelation. I believed you were mine, but it was never so. Each thought struck like a winter storm: Thunder roared, lightning danced, and rain fell hard. How could my heart conspire in this deception? My thoughts, the conspirators, wove their web. I believed in love, I embraced love’s promise, new beginnings, only to stumble into the brain’s murky labyrinth. My heart, once an allied guardian against pain, Revealed its dual nature—a double agent. I crumpled, knees to earth, head bowed low, Then stretched toward the sky, seeking answers. How foolish to think you were mine alone! The truth echoed from within: you were never there. You were never mine, what I thought was never there. - Florencio -
