Illusion
With my eyes closed, And the music playing, I could hear them screaming, Some were clapping, some were shouting. But I wasn't focused on that. I turned, I spun, Again and again and again. And all I could think of was nothing. I poured out my heart, My whole being in it. I danced like never before, Letting the emotions come raw. Dancing has always been a distraction. At first, I thought it was passion, But I realized it was just an excuse, A way to forget my pain. The loud clapping pulled me back to reality. I opened my eyes, And there I stood on an empty stage. No one but myself. I looked at the chairs. They were empty, cold, silent. And finally, it hit me like water: It was all an illusion.
