Ill Dreams
Ill Dreams by Jack A.S. Dunce The stubborn night refused to end; As Sandman passed me by, Afraid he may catch what I had That scorched my throat bone-dry. From stuffy nose and a headache That worsened to fever -- My body wholly shutting down As pain spread all over. From end to end, I turned in bed To find elusive sleep. I even tried the counting trick But found no jumping sheep. As morning dawned, I stared outside With eyes completely blank. In daze from total exhaustion To Nod at last I sank. --🏵️-- ©️pgmr 06/01/2025
