If Love
Met a man A sweet man A loving man Online. Hadn't met him yet But we planned too Oh if only I would let go of my rejection It clings to me like a birthmark If only I was confident enough To accept my heart even if I do not have the looks No one is ugly, we just don't have the proper maintenance options like others Why can't the world look at the heart. Only God looks at the heart. Everybody else looks at your looks And if you don't have looks, you're not 'worthy' of acknowledging. Like a book in the library that's never picked because of it's cover, yet that is the interesting book that you have been searching for. "God give me a sign" "Who is the one" A sign is given but because it is not in the packaging you prefer, you reject it. Protecting myself from rejection Let these thorns that I have protect me from the people who will only tear me down more. Mental Health issues with an addition of a really low self esteem does not make me a worthless human. I am still loving, and worthy to stare at. Why should I be rejected all because of your prejudiced beliefs? Why should I hide myself and choose to dwell on the corner of the ashamed basement all because your high standards of painting do not matchmyframe?
