Though my life be short, fragile, and small, I would embrace the world, giving fragrance to all. 2 I would sway with the breeze, so gentle, so free, Whispering secrets to the birds on the tree. Not fearing the night, nor the scorching noon, But dancing with hope under silver moon. 3 In the temple’s corner, I’d fall at God’s feet, Where prayers and chants in devotion meet. To be offered by a bhakt with folded hands, Would make my journey divine, across all lands. 4 Upon the chest of a shaheed, so brave and true, I’d rest with pride, bathed in the morning dew. My petals would honor the blood he gave, Blooming forever on his sacred grave. 5 On a bride’s forehead, as a garland so sweet, I’d shine with joy when her beloved she’d meet. Her smile would glow as her dreams take flight, And I’d fade with grace in her wedding night.
