If given the chance, I'd be
I'd be a book, if given the chance to be I swear to deliver stories that make people happy, Or cry when they want to, But most of all, teach them with what they can do. I'd be a mom, if given the chance to be I'd scold my children for I love them dearly Even though in my age, I am prone to becoming weary I can't, for my children, where I derive the strength I need. I'd be a father, if given the chance to be I'd pamper my children, show them all ways to be Show them all sights to see, Lead them where I can see They are not in misery and instead are happy. I'd be a teacher if given the chance to be I'd teach the children the moralities the world needs I won't let them cry for trying too little or too much But mostly, I'd never tell them to rush. I'd be a clock if given the chance to be I am inanimate but the source of animate enmity I'd teach the children wisdom at the right time No one has to suffer and regret for the lack of time I'd rhyme all day if given the chance to do So that what I say reaches the deepest part of you So that you cannot forget in the times of trials So as long as you can remember and sing along to the tune of my dials.
