Inspired by Ephesians 5:25–26 Dedicated to L. Erasmus I’d give up everything, even the breath of my name, If only love’s whisper would call you home again. For you are the song that heaven once wrote, A verse in my heart, forever afloat. Like Christ who gave all for His bride to be whole, I’d lay down my pride, my plans, my soul. For love is not loud—it’s patient, it prays, It weeps in the night and believes through the haze. I still see your light in the shadows that stay, I still feel your warmth where my faith used to fray. I'd give my all for you to return. If grace can restore what time has torn, Then hope will bloom where pain was born. So I’ll love you still, not in longing alone, But in faith that one day, love will lead you home. For as Christ loved the church and made her new, I’ll keep that same love alive—only for you.
