Icy Inferno
In the dark I lay, Hiding under the blanket, In pursuit of warmth, Yet the cold is all I feel. Under the sheets, I sweat, yet the chill is all I know. Surrender? I refuse. The unspoken anger roars, short words stretching longer than any paragraph you could write. We were lit last night, But now, we’re in the flames. In pursuit of escape, I run, Yet I still feel trapped, In the inferno, I burn. In my ears, his laughter echoes, The devil’s laughter.
