Icarus - a ballad
Maybe it was a trustfall maybe he laughed as he fell because he knew. Knew just how Apollo would catch him, hold him to his warm chest and kiss him with sunsoaked lips and a heart set ablaze. Or maybe for that one look, one glance at the sun, he fell. Maybe he laughed at his sun kissed death, because it was a reward, was the break free of a too long caged bird. A marvellous moment of freedom, as he burned in Apollo's hands, his wings melting in the gods heated kiss, as he touched the sun in the sky. And laughed at his death. And maybe, just maybe, when he hit the seas glittering surface, it had mercy on him, and his love. carried him on shore, and maybe, just maybe, as he lay there on cold stone, smile burnt into his face, although body wound, Apollo took his burned hands, and kissed away the pain, with blazing eyes and lips of honey. And Icarus, despite the fall, just maybe was to envy. Because to be able to fall, to deem it worthy, for Justine look, to love with such selfless passion, oh, how we should envy him, that child of the sun. who fell and laughed up at the sky, because every Tragedy was once a dream, worth dying for.
