I Wish I had Noticed
I didn’t notice when I started missing you, but my heart spoke as it lost its beat. My lips complained as they lost their creases, but as thoughts rushed through my mind, I only noticed you drifting away beyond what I can find. Now, as I walk along the path we used to embark, I can’t see my feet leaving their mark. I have no one to hold, just the walls whispering that you were never meant to leave, never meant to stay. I will not say you weren’t a part of me, I will not say that my hair doesn’t carry your scent, but neither can I deny the truth that my eyes have stopped glistening without you. As the sun rises, all I wish is for one more day, not to say goodbye, but to remind you that my doorway will always wait for you to arrive.
