I Wish I Could Fly...
I wish I could fly — just spread and soar, Leave behind the noise, the doubt, the war. Not wings like birds, but something more real, Freedom from thoughts I don’t want to feel. I’d rise above deadlines, drama, and debt, Above the “what ifs” I try to forget. Over the stares, the stress, the lies, Above the version of me that just survives. I wouldn’t fly to run or hide, But to feel the peace I keep buried inside. To touch the clouds and not feel small, To be weightless — mind, soul, and all. I’d fly over university's stress and strike, Over missed calls and friends who ghost at night. Above the “man up” masks I wear with pride, When all I want is to breathe and not collide. I wish I could fly — not forever, just for a while, Enough to rest, enough to smile. Then maybe I’d land with a lighter heart, Ready again to play my part. But until then, I’ll write, I’ll sing, I’ll try, With feet on earth and soul in sky. Because maybe I can’t fly with wings just yet… But I soar every time I don't forget — That dreams are real, even if they stall, And wishing to fly… isn’t weakness at all.
