I was trying to scream through
I was trying to scream through layers of pain, But my voice was trapped, like a bird in a cage. I wanted to shout, to cry, to let it all out, But the words got stuck, like a knot in a rope. The pain was a mountain, tall and steep, I couldn't climb it, couldn't even creep. It weighed me down, like a heavy stone, I felt like I was drowning, alone. I was trying to scream, but it was hard to breathe, The pain was suffocating, like a tightening sleeve. I wanted to break free, to let go and scream, But the fear held me back, like a ghost in a dream. I was trying to scream, but the silence was loud, It was a reminder of my pain, of my solitude. But still I tried, with all my might, To find my voice, to shine a light.
