I wanted To
I wanted you, with all my heart's design, To be the one, who captured this love of mine. I yearned for us, to share a lasting flame, A love so strong, that nothing could restrain. I wanted to love you, to hold you close, To watch our love blossom like a delicate rose. To explore each day, the wonders of your soul, And let our love's journey continue to unfold. I longed for your touch, your gentle caress, To feel your love's warmth, a tender finesse. To kiss your lips, with passion unbound, And let our souls entwine, in love's profound. But alas, my dreams were shattered, it seems, For you did not share in these heartfelt dreams. I wanted you to love me, to see me as your own, Yet you remained distant, my heart left alone. And so, I've come to terms, with this reality, That our love was never meant to be. But still, within my heart, a flicker will remain, Of the love I hoped for, in a sweet refrained. For love is never lost, it simply transforms, Into memories, lessons, and life's many storms. I wanted you, I wanted to love you, it's true, But sometimes, love is meant for someone new.
