I WANTED
In shadows of longing, I yearned to be chosen, For love's gentle touch, my heart was frozen. But alas, your actions spoke a different tale, And in their wake, my spirit began to fail. I craved your affection, your warmth and care, Yet instead, you inflicted wounds unfair. The pain you caused pierced deep within, Leaving me bewildered, lost in a whirlwind. But know this, dear soul, my strength still remains, Though battered and bruised, my spirit sustains. For in the face of hurt, I find my resilience, Rising above the anguish, with newfound brilliance. I'll mend these wounds, like a phoenix reborn, Embracing self-love, for my heart to adorn. No longer reliant on your misguided affection, I'll find solace within, my own protection. So farewell to the hurt, and the tears that I've shed, I'll rise from the ashes, no longer misled. For I understand now, it's not in your hands, To define my worth, or meet my life's demands. I'll choose myself, with a love that's true, And in that choice, I'll find my breakthrough. No longer seeking validation from another, I'll heal, I'll grow, and rise above the smother. So, goodbye to the pain, hello to the light, I'll write my own story, with all my might. For I am deseRomi
