I WANT TO BE A WOMAN
(by Ellah phinifolo) I wanna be a woman To have that endless love Despite the pain given by my child Hold it tight in my arms Despite the fact that it has defecated Right in my own hands I wanna be a woman To keep marriage steadfast and tight Despite all sorts of violence from my husband To keep his aggression in private And loving him like nothing has happened I wanna be a woman To endure all the painful words Spoken by relatives and my hubby's friends Those words, they will be like "I'm impotent" just because we have stayed a year without a child "I'm not that pretty" or "I'm not that educated" But yet still hosting them with a warm hug and a smile on my face despite all insults I wanna learn to endure the pain Wanna learn to persevere and rise stronger again Hold back my tears and still show endless love Hold back my words when shouted and still iron his clothes when he has a meeting I just wanna be as strong and resilient as a woman
