I used to like a boy
I used to like a boy But he played me like a ball, With his smiles and his words, He had me fall. But I saw through his guise, Realized his deceit, So I gathered my strength, And stood on my feet. No longer a toy, No longer his game, I reclaimed my worth, And I won't be the same. For in learning the lesson, I found my true voice, No longer a victim, But empowered, by choice. And though it hurt deeply, That I played his part, I emerged from the wreckage, With a mended heart. So to all who've been played, By a lover untrue, Remember your worth, And rise anew.
