I USED TO BE POETIC
I used to be poetic Very aesthetic Charming my way with words Conquering the world My words were once revolutionary Shaped and auxiliary I used to be poetic Now I'm just like static The breath of my ink Gave birth to hope My words healed the sick I was to the world a life giver I used to be poetic Speaking so ecstatic You can say I was prophetic Darkness called me a light bringer I used to be poetic My words made me charismatic As well as linguistic But as l speak all seems to be archaic I used to be poetic My words were ecclesiastic My passion so angelic And my voice so melodic Words have long gone Yet they built me a kingdom Now in these ruins I'm alone I fear they'll be my doom I used to be poetic Dedicated not selective Full of rhymes and themes Now, l sit as it all seems a dream I used to be poetic Words were astronomic Rhyme and Rhythm were oceanic But it all sank like the titanic Oh how I bleed inside Yet I used to bleed ink Generating life links Anchored deep inside I used to be poetic Leaving nothing behind But now, thoughts are locked in my mind I drown in dreams and visions
