I Survived
I Survived They tried to silence me with violence, with fear, with a night I never asked for. But I survived. Not untouched, not unscarred, but undeniably still here. My body remembered what I tried to forget, nights I shook without reason, days I smiled through storms. But even broken, I breathed. Even shattered, I stood. I am not the horror they left in me. I am the girl who crawled out of that night with trembling hands and a fire still flickering in her chest. I stitched myself together with poetry, with prayer, with rage and with grace. I learned that healing isn’t forgetting it’s reclaiming. Rebuilding. Returning to myself. So, here I am Not the victim in their story, But the author of my own. I survived. And now, I speak. —Jalilah Writes ✍️🖤
