“I see you, I wish I didn't.“
I wish I didn’t know your name, now I think of you whenever someone has the same. Now I've forgotten how to say it— or maybe, it's just too hard to say. I wish I hadn’t memorized your voice — how it rose and fell like the tide, how it felt like home for a while. how I thought that if love were a sound, it would be your voice. I wish I never saw your smile. how it’s gentle enough to quiet storms, how it’s bright enough to make shadows shy away. If it would be compared to the sun, yours will outshine it. I see you, which I wish I didn’t. In songs, in dreams, even in certain streets. You linger in places you’ve never been, in faces that aren’t yours. If forgetting were a choice, I would’ve chosen it long ago. But love, once learned, is a language the heart refuses to unhear. — luna 🌑
