I see you
I know that you believe no one sees you. You hide your broken heart under frozen leaves while you dance through summer rain. "If only they believe I am alive, they will love me," you say. You dance with your eyes closed so you don't have to see the blood pouring out of your chest. You don't nurture your wounds. You've never known what it is to be whole. My dear, I see you. I know that you are dead. My eyes are open and I can see the color of your skin. I see the forced smile as you try to dance with your eyes closed. Do not be ashamed of such things. Your worth is not dictated by the state of your heart, by the blood on your clothes or your ability to dance in pain. I am the one who can restore those who have lost their hearts. I saw your heart, shattered and cold. I am not ashamed of you. You will dance in fields of clover, on the hills above the valley. Crisp autumn air will fill your lungs and you will feel the beating of your heart. You will be alive for the very first time. You will live because I love you. You do not have to dance without your heart. You are chosen. Do not hide from me, come as you are.
