I Saw You in My Dream
I saw you in my dream last night, as vivid as the day, You smiled at me the way you used to, took my breath away. We talked like nothing ever changed, like time had never passed, And for a moment in my sleep, I thought the hurt wouldn't last. You looked exactly how I remember, every detail in its place, The way your eyes would light up, the softness in your face. We laughed about the little things, the memories we made, And I forgot that I was dreaming, forgot the price I paid. But then I woke up to the silence, to the emptiness beside, Reality came crashing back, nowhere left to hide. You were just a visitor in a world that doesn't exist, A ghost of what we used to be, a moment that I missed. I saw you in my dream last night, and now the day feels strange, Like I've been given something precious just to watch it rearrange. I wish I could go back to sleep, stay in that gentle lie, Where you're still here, still mine, and we never said goodbye.
