I promise I won't call
I fell in love with you from the moment we began talking Appearance didn't matter to me But it clearly did to you, I liked your best friend But that didn't matter to you Did it? Because you always told me "I'm better than him" But you clearly didn't prove to be Because a few weeks after dating you, you became horrible to me. At first you always told me you loved me And how you loved my smile Why would you say that and then make me frown? Make me frown as if I just had to run a mile. I want to go home but home doesn't want me back, Home is now an ordinary house which I've been evicted from And now I will never get a "please come back" I try to visit every once in a while And I ask you if you missed me. Sometimes I get a yes Sometimes I get a no But do you ever mean it? I guess we'll never know What I do know is you lied to me, You're not better than your best friend But at least you still loved me, And even if it was mainly lust Just know I still love you Even if you think all that has gone to dust.
