I Never Thought
Growing up, shadows loomed, a path unsure, In poverty's grasp, my future obscure. The whispers spread, a joke to share, Laughter echoed, my worth impaired. Used and misunderstood, a soul astray, Bugging for scraps, night's empty sway. But Yah stood by, a constant guide, Timing divine, turning tides. I never thought I'd rise above the pain, My story's chapters, forever stained. Yet, He saw potential, a heart untamed, And sculpted me, His masterpiece reclaimed. He's my provider, protector, and friend, Unlocking doors, where paths did end. He washed away my sins, like autumn's rain, Wiping tears, soothing heartache's stain. I never thought I'd testify, Of His redemption, love's sweet alchemy. But now I stand, a living proof, Of His perfect timing, love's eternal truth. He's my everything, my guiding light, Illuminating darkness, banishing the night. I never thought I'd be this way, Transformed, renewed, with a brighter day. But He's the One, who saw me through, And lifted me, to stand anew. His love is endless, His mercy true, And I'm forever grateful, for all He's done for me.
